Granny Square Baby Blanket

I've made two blankets using the same pattern found here

For the Mint & White blanket, I used Bernat's Baby Yarn. I used a 5.5 mm hook.

For the Grey, Blue, White blanket, I used Bernat's Softee Chunky yarn. I used a 11.5 mm hook.

The Baby yarn is softer of course. I really like the chunky look too. :)

Crochet Chevron Baby Blanket

I love the chevron patterns. I especially love the color combination of grey and yellow.

I don't do tutorials on crochet because I get the tutorials off YouTube from others. They do a much better job of explaining it than I do. I'm not exactly great with the crochet "terms".

I followed the tutorial here (I didn't do the "rugged" design).

I found that my sides were getting shorter and shorter. I fixed this issue by adding an addition double crochet at each end and it seemed to fix the problem. The video didn't explain why that would happen and I'm pretty sure I'm not skipping stitches unless I missed it on the video.

I used a 6.5mm hook and 2 colors: Red Heart 4 ply yarn, Grey Heather & Cornmeal.

For the foundation chain, you need sets of 12, plus 3 more stitches depending on how long you want your blanket. Mine was 8 sets of 12 for a total of 99 chains (8x12 + 3).

Chain 99
DC into the fourth chain from the hook (counting back)
DC into the next 3 chains
DC decreases into the next four chains (2 decreases - each decrease uses 2 chain stitches)
DC into the next 3 chains
2 DC increases into the next 2 chains (a total of 4 DC in the next 2 chains)
DC into the next 3 chains
2 sets of DC decreases
DC into the next 3 chains....

This is the pattern you will repeat until you get to the end. 3 DC, 2 decreases, 3 DC, 2 increases....you will have 3 DC between the decreases and increases.

When you get to the end...

1 increase at the last stitch at the end of each row

Chain 3, turn your work
REPEAT.

Crochet Lulu Pom Pom Scarf

Let's face it. Kids things are cute. They're miniature and the kiddos look good modeling anything! Anyone who knows me knows ...
